Instalco wins assignment associated with expansion of the Stockholm Metro
The Instalco company Ohmegi Elektro AB has won an assignment to install electricity and power for a new station that will be constructed as part of the Stockholm Metro. The contract is with NCC and Region Stockholm is the end customer. The order value is approximately SEK 90 million.
Region Stockholm is adding several stations to the metro system to make it easier and quicker to travel between various parts of the city. A new station will be built in Hagastaden, near Karolinska University Hospital, which will be part of the new subway line to Arenastaden.
The assignment for Ohmegi includes the installation and delivery of all power and lighting as well as reserve power and systems for uninterrupted power supply.
“This is an extra interesting project to be involved in because it is part of the largest expansion of the Stockholm Metro since the 70s. As in all projects, it is important that the planning of resources and deliveries works in an unusual work environment,” says Johan Brodin, CEO at Ohmegi.
The assignment for Ohmegi will get underway during the first quarter of 2024 and is expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2026.
“We have a long, good relationship with NCC. We know each other well and enjoy working together,” says Anders Kallin, Business Area Manager Instalco Stockholm.
The project puts high demands on the work environment and will be run within the scope of the BREEAM sustainability system, where Ohmegi is aiming to carry out the work as a Sustainable Instalco Project.
