Swedish Agency for Accessible Media moves to Wihlborgs property in Dockan
MTM’s mission is to ensure everyone has access to literature, news and societal information on their own terms, regardless of reading ability or disability.
In 2020, the operations were relocated from Stockholm to Malmö. The agency is now moving within Malmö to the Torrdockan 6 property at Dockplatsen 1. The move will take place in stages beginning in October 2025.
Torrdockan 6 was built in 2000 and marked the start of the former shipyard area’s transformation into a modern urban district with a mix of offices, housing and services. The ground floor of the property has a large atrium as well as shower and changing facilities, and several car parks and bicycle parking areas are located in its immediate vicinity.
The building was also the first to adopt Wihlborgs’ own energy innovation, the “Janne Solution.” The solution was installed in 2021 and, in just one year, reduced total energy consumption 55 percent, thereby raising the building’s energy class from E to B.
“The urban seaside location together with Dockan’s variety of new and historic industrial buildings, and diverse activities with everything from public sector operations to major head offices imbues Dockan with a special character. The Swedish Agency for Accessible Media will become part of this multi-faceted environment,” says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.
