From SEK 7 to 60 billion in property value - Wihlborgs celebrates 20 years as a listed company
When listed on 23 May 2005, Wihlborgs had a property value of SEK 7 billion. Investments in new builds and existing properties as well as in acquisitions have grown the company’s property value to SEK 60 billion.*
The Wihlborgs share is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and, from January 2016, has been included in the Large Cap segment.
Over the period, the total return, including reinvested dividends, has increased 1,735 percent, corresponding to annual growth of more than 15 percent. This figure can be compared with the Stockholm Stock Market Index’s annual growth rate of 10.6 percent.
Annual growth for Wihlborgs’ rental income, operating surplus and income from property management is approaching 10 percent.
Wihlborgs has raised its dividend for 19 years in a row, a feat that few other listed companies have achieved. Some SEK 9 billion in dividends has been distributed by Wihlborgs during this period, without raising any new capital through new share issues.
Wihlborgs is active in selected sub-markets in the Öresund region, creating dense clusters of properties, industries and networks that enable tenants to relocate, grow and develop within our portfolio, but also providing them with the preconditions for local and regional development. Over the past 20 years, Wihlborgs’ investments in new projects and existing properties in Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg and Copenhagen amounts to SEK 20 billion.
“Wihlborgs does not aim to be a stock market rocket and is instead characterised by its consistent and sustainable growth over many years. We have maintained a steady course through the financial crisis, a pandemic, recessions and geopolitical turmoil, and have never stood still. Our investments not only create value for us and our shareholders, they also create jobs and boost the attractiveness of the cities in which we are active. This underlines the important role for socio-economic stability and sustainable growth played by the property sector in general and Wihlborgs in particular,” says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.
“Our strong earnings, robust balance sheet and healthy access to capital provide us with the scope to focus on the core of our operations: letting properties, caring for our tenants and maintaining our properties with a long-term vision. By continually focusing on improving cash flow, we build a financial stability that enables us to develop an attractive project portfolio and leverage new business opportunities when they arise,” says Arvid Liepe, CFO of Wihlborgs.
