W5 Solutions wins framework agreement worth up to SEK 40 million with FMV for thermal targets
W5 Solutions’ business area Training has signed a framework agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the delivery of thermal targets for advanced live fire training. The estimated value amounts to SEK 40 million, with call-offs expected during the period 2026–2030.
As thermal sights are increasingly used in operational environments, military units must be able to train with equipment that mirrors actual conditions. The thermal targets are fully integrated with, and powered by, the company’s existing target systems. This enables realistic traing scenarios where soldiers train using the same type of technology as is employed in real operations.
“Military units must be able to train the way they operate. Our thermal targets enable highly realistic training that aligns with the requirements placed on modern forces,” says Toralf Johanessen, Head of Business Area Training, W5 Solutions.
