Sweco completes acquisitions in the UK, Finland and Sweden adding a total of 175 experts

Sweco continues to capture opportunities that arise in the market by making three new acquisitions.

By acquiring Ball & Berry in the UK, announced today, Sweco strengthens its market leading position in technical and compliance standards in the Building Control sector and extends its geographical presence. Ball & Berry has around 40 experts in four offices in England and in 2022, the company had a turnover of GBP 3.4 million.

Sweco Finland acquires Neva Architects with around 30 experts specialised in urban planning and residential projects as well as demanding renovation and conversion projects. The acquisition complements Sweco’s expertise, adds local presence in the growing Tampere region and contributes to Sweco being one of Finland’s largest architecture consultancies with over 150 architects. In 2022, Neva Architects had a turnover of EUR 2.9 million. The acquisition was announced 3 May 2023.

With the acquisition of Metria AB’s survey business and its 110 experts, Sweco Sweden expands to some 300 experts in the field, thereby strengthening its already leading position in the Swedish market. The business area being acquired from Metria has operations in 20 locations and annual turnover of around SEK 130 million. The acquisition was announced 17 April 2023.

“Sweco’s strategy is to grow organically and through acquisitions to thereby capture market leading positions in our European core markets. I am highly gratified that Sweco is growing in the form of 175 experts to help design the sustainable communities and cities of the future in partnership with our clients,” says Åsa Bergman, President and CEO of Sweco.
