Clinical Publication on TSE Therapy for the Treatment of Equine Sarcoids to Be Presented During ECVS
The study has been conducted by Prof. Cathrine T. Fjordbakk, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ECVS, Diplomate ECVSMR, Professor in Equine Surgery at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The publication focuses on the clinical use of TSE within the vetIQure™ platform for treating equine sarcoids in a standing sedation setting.
VQ Animal Care will be present at ECVS with a dedicated booth to showcase its TSE therapy and meet equine veterinarians, surgeons, specialists, and clinicians with an interest in tumour and sarcoid treatments.
Equine sarcoids are among the most common and challenging skin tumours in horses. TSE represents an innovative, tissue-sparing treatment approach that can often be performed without the need for general anesthesia. This may reduce risk, stress, and recovery time for the horse, while also offering practical advantages for clinics and horse owners.
"We look forward to meeting equine veterinarians and specialists at ECVS in Liverpool and having the opportunity to share more about how TSE can support modern sarcoid and tumour treatment in horses," said Mohan Frick, CEO of Scandinavian ChemoTech AB. "The upcoming clinical publication on TSE for the treatment of equine sarcoids in a standing sedation setting is an important milestone for VQ Animal Care and further supports our ambition to establish TSE as an important treatment option in veterinary oncology."
TSE is designed to provide controlled and selective electroporation of tumour tissue while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. For equine patients, treatment under standing sedation may offer important clinical and practical advantages, including reduced need for general anesthesia, less scarring, faster recovery, and improved accessibility in a wider range of clinical settings.
VQ Animal Care welcomes all equine veterinarians, surgeons, and oncology-focused clinicians attending ECVS to visit the company's booth and learn more about Tumour Specific Electroporation™ for sarcoids and other tumour indications.
