Scandic Go Sankt Eriksgatan 20 now open
Fridhemsplan is a major gateway to central Stockholm. The residential buildings, restaurants, bars, stores and vast green spaces in the area create a vibrant and lively environment that attracts leisure and business travelers alike.
A good price, inviting design, smooth self-service and breakfast and hot food around the clock are key elements of the new Scandic Go brand. The hotel rooms at Scandic Go have a youthful design that features smart solutions and clever storage facilities – features that are attractive to a new target group of leisure travelers who want to take advantage of a city’s leisure and event offerings rather than focusing on the hotel stay itself.
- We're delighted to be opening our second Scandic Go in Stockholm. Since the start a little more than a year ago, our brand in the fast-growing economy segment has been well received by both guests and partners. Right now, I’m really looking forward to establishing a strong presence on Kungsholmen, an area of the capital that Scandic hasn’t operated in earlier. Stockholm is an important market for us, and we’re now sending a clear signal that we’re dedicated to continuing to provide fantastic options for travelers who want to focus on all that Stockholm has to offer, says Peter Jangbratt, Managing Director, Sweden at Scandic Hotels.
- We’re very much looking forward to the grand opening of Scandic Go Sankt Eriksgatan 20 today. The hotel is a clear example of how we actively create value as property owners. We acquired the property at the beginning of 2023 and since then have expanded, renovated and positioned the hotel together with Scandic. It is exciting to be a part of Scandic’s expansion in the economy segment, and the brand fits the hotel property and its central location very well, says Tobias Ekman, Head of Property Management Nordics at Pandox.
The new hotel is certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. By testing new materials, investing in sustainable finishes and interior design with as low CO2 emissions as possible, the aim is to offer an environmentally friendly hotel experience. In the hotel decor, recycled materials have been prioritized, including chairs made from coffee grounds and tabletops made from recycled textiles. In as far as possible, items used in the hotel can also be taken apart for reuse or recycling.
Following the opening, Scandic will operate two hotels with a total of 358 rooms under the Scandic Go brand.
