OptiCept Technologies AB (publ) announces that the company's partner FPS Food Process Solutions ("FPS") has received a major order from MAF Gateways, a leading distributor of frozen French fries, for a complete end-to-end potato processing line in Egypt. Now, FPS always offer OptiCept's PEFsystem OPTICEPT® when selling lines.

The line will be used for processing potatoes before blanching and cutting and will produce frozen fries. The fully integrated solution covers the entire production chain – from receiving raw potatoes and peeling to PEF processing, blanching, cutting, drying, deep-frying, freezing, sorting and packaging. The PEF step is performed with the OPTICEPT®system.

By integrating OPTICEPT® PEF into the FPS line solution, the customer can improve efficiency and sustainability, including through lower energy consumption, heat recovery and optimized water use. PEF technology also contributes to smoother cuts, better quality, reduced waste and a higher proportion of marketable product, which strengthens the profitability of the potato process.

"This project with MAF Gateways in Egypt is one of several steps forward for our PEF technology and an acknowledgment that our joint OPTICEPT®offering with FPS is competitive in large, international potato lines," says Henrik Nettersand, CEO of OptiCept Technologies. "FPS delivers a complete, high-performance potato line and we are proud that our PEF solution is a central part of production."

FPS describes the project as an important step in the company's expansion in the Middle East and highlights in particular the opportunity to raise quality and hygiene standards for frozen fries in the region. For OptiCept, the order represents another step in the commercialization of PEF systems for solid foods, with a focus on the rapidly growing market for processed potatoes. The order is expected to be installed in the first quarter 2027.
