OptiBoost - results from evaluation with Porta Nova
The evaluation of OptiBoost with the Dutch company Porta Nova has now been completed with good results. The treated roses show extended shelf life of several days, confirming the effectiveness of the method. The FREJA technology will need to be further adapted in order to be integrated into Porta Nova's fully automated production environment.
Porta Nova's production of roses is unique as cultivation and handling takes place under one roof in a fully automated environment, which differs significantly from how the majority of rose growers handle production. In order for OptiBoost to also be integrated in an environment with this high degree of automation, OptiCept will review how FREJA can be adapted. OptiCept plans to resume discussions with Porta Nova once a custom solution is developed.
In December 2021, OptiCept entered into an evaluation agreement with Porta Nova which is the largest grower in the world of the famous Naomi rose, annually Porta Nova produces approximately 60 million roses.
"The results at Porta Nova confirm that treatment works very well at site as well, which is an important message for our further commercialization. We will take the lessons learned from the project into the further development of our FREJA technology," says Thomas Lundqvist, CEO OptiCept Technologies.
