Nordrest acquires property for in-house MRE production
Nordrest has acquired a production facility with a floor area of 3,600 sqm for SEK 7.6 million.
Nordrest, one of Sweden's leading meal service providers, has signed an agreement to acquire a production facility north of Kristianstad, with possession scheduled for August. The property comprises 20,000 sqm of land, with 3,600 sqm of production space specifically adapted for food production. The purpose of the acquisition is to establish in-house production of components and products within MRE (Meal Ready-to-Eat). The takeover will take place in August, and production is expected to commence during autumn 2025.
“With our own production facility, we are taking a valuable next step in the development of our MRE operations. In addition to shortening the supply chain and reducing procurement costs, we further strengthen our Outmeals brand.”
“The acquisition enhances our ability to develop new recipes and products, while increasing our capacity, flexibility, and speed as a supplier to armed forces across Europe,” continues Thomas Dahlstedt, CEO of Nordrest.
