Insplorion announces update regarding ATEX certification
The company has received feedback from the requirements review for type approval of the NPS-P2 product, indicating that certain adjustments are necessary. The company has also been informed that RISE, the certification body chosen for the certification, has decided to discontinue its ATEX certification operations. Overall, the company estimates that this may delay the certification process by up to 3 months.
The review process at RISE has identified that certain adjustments need to be made. These changes are already being implemented, and through its supply chain the company will manufacture new product samples for final testing at a certification body.
However, due to the announcement that RISE is discontinuing its operations, the assignment must be transferred to another certification body. The results of the review will be incorporated into the new certification application, which is expected to make the process efficient.
“It is of course challenging to have to change certification body, but we are in contact with several different parties previously evaluated and feel confident that we can quickly transfer the work that has been done, as well as the assignment, to one of them. All in all, however, we estimate that the certification process may be extended by up to an additional 3 months, i.e. until the end of Q1 2026,” says Olof Andersson, COO.
