Humana Assistans AB ("Humana Assistans") applies for damage claim from the state due to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate's ("IVO") erroneous decision to revoke Humana Assistans' permit
On 31 January 2023, IVO decided to revoke the permit for Humana Assistans. On June 21 of the same year, the Administrative Court announced that it upheld Humana's appeal and the verdict made it clear that the permit had been revoked on incorrect grounds.
Humana Assistans has suffered significant financial damage as a result of the wrongly revoked permit and has therefore today submitted a formal request for damage claim to the Chancellor of Justice to have the right to compensation examined for parts of the financial damage.
The claim for damages relates partly to costs resulting from customer loss, corresponding to SEK 225,5 million, and partly to compensation for legal costs for the process amounting to SEK 14 million.
- The incorrect decision by the authorities to revoke our permit had enormous consequences for our customers, their relatives, our employees, owners and us as a company. We continue to live with those consequences and are now seeking compensation for parts of the financial damage. Above all, it is primarily concerning the fact that many customers who depend on assistance to cope with everyday life chose to leave Humana in the uncertainty about our future that followed the decision. We believe that there is a good chance that our compensation claims will be legally justified," says Johanna Rastad, President and CEO of Humana AB.
