Through our investment in Creditas, we have gained a deep understanding of asset-backed lending in Brazil. Leveraging this experience, VEF invested in Solfácil, Brazil’s largest digital solar panel marketplace and financing platform, in March 2022. Solfácil is building a full ecosystem for solar energy adoption in Brazil, which is still in its infancy across the emerging market world.

In this report, we provide an overview of the solar energy market opportunity in Brazil, focusing on the value proposition of solar and the potential market size of solar financing. We also give special focus to VEF’s investment in Solfácil, including an interview with the company’s founder, Fabio Carrara.
