Skanska rebuilds part of Lundbyleden, Gothenburg, Sweden for about SEK 880M

The E2 Lundbyleden contract includes the reconstruction of Lundbyleden between Brantingsmotet and Ringömotet, as well as railway land work between Lundbyleden and Kville bangård. The project includes the reconstruction and extension of roads, construction of five new bridges with associated retaining walls, and civil engineering works for the expansion of the Bohusbanan to double track. The work includes, among other things, approximately 80,000 meters of piling, excavation and removal of approximately 200,000 cubic meters of mass and structures containing approximately 11,000 cubic meters of concrete.

Lundbyleden is one of Gothenburg's most important and busiest routes, and a part of the national trunk road network. Lundbyleden connects the E6, E20 and E45 with Road 155 to, among other things, the Port of Gothenburg, housing and industries in Torslanda and Öckerö. Today, the route is periodically heavily trafficked and is experienced as difficult to navigate.

Construction is expected to begin in May 2025, with project completion anticipated around the turn of the year 2029-2030.
