Skanska divests the elderly care home Villa Fågelsång in Sollentuna, Sweden, for about SEK 340M
Villa Fågelsång, which is being developed and constructed by Skanska Sweden, is designed to meet the need for more senior housing and assisted living homes in Sollentuna and will be operated by the tenants Vardaga Äldreomsorg AB and Nytida AB. The property comprises approximately 6,300 square meters (68,000 square feet) distributed over six floors.
The project has been developed with high sustainability ambitions. The building will be certified to LEED Gold, with the target of achieving approximately 35 percent lower carbon footprint than the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's reference value during construction. It will also achieve Energy Class B with low operational emissions enabled by energy-efficient design, district heating, and photovoltaic solar panels.
Construction is scheduled to start in June 2026, and completion is expected in the first quarter of 2028, when the transfer of ownership to Folksamgruppen through KPA Pension will also take place.
