The Opera office building is being built next to Axis' current office near the ESS and Max IV research facilities. The building will be seven stories high and cover roughly 27,000 square meters. Through the new construction, the company can move its logistics center, which is currently located elsewhere in Lund, and will also receive the addition of new office premises to meet the expansion needs. Of the company's roughly 4,000 employees, approximately 2,700 work in Lund.

The emphasis is on creating a pleasant working environment and long-term sustainability. Among other things, green areas and a solar cell system will be built on the roof. The intention is to seek certification according to Miljöbyggnad Silver and Miljöbyggnad Gold regarding energy.

Construction work will start after the summer and is expected to be fully completed by the summer of 2026.
