PolarCap® now used by 8 out of 14 teams in DEL, Germanys Premier Ice Hockey League
The med-tech company PolarCool AB (publ.) has signed an agreement with the Iserlohn Roosters, a team competing in Germany's premier ice hockey league, the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). With this partnership, PolarCool now provides PolarCap® to 8 out of the 14 clubs in DEL, further cementing its presence in the league.
PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.
Last season, PolarCool partnered with several professional ice hockey clubs in DEL. With the upcoming season approaching, PolarCool aims to expand its presence by securing additional clubs as PolarCap® providers. The Iserlohn Roosters, join other DEL teams-Adler Mannheim, Eisbären Berlin, Straubing Tigers, Kölner Haie, Augsburger Panther, Schwenninger Wild Wings, and Nürnberg Ice Tigers-utilizing PolarCap® for player treatment.
PolarCool's CEO, Erik Andersson comments:
-In line with our ambition to continue establishing ourselves in the European ice hockey market, the agreement with the Iserlohn Roosters is very positive. The agreement is another step in our work to cover the entire German League, as well as increase our presence in the second division, DEL2. As the number of using clubs in DEL increases, we foresee more wanting to follow suit.
PolarCool continues to recognize significant potential in the German ice hockey market, where discussions are actively progressing with the remaining DEL teams. Across Germany's top two leagues, the DEL and DEL2, there are 28 ice hockey teams in total. While the financial impact of individual agreements may be limited, the partnership with the Iserlohn Roosters holds strategic importance, enhancing PolarCool's presence in this growing market.
