Sweden's national road network is divided into geographical areas, where each area consists of 550 to 1,750 kilometers of roads. Peab has now been awarded a contract for the basic maintenance of the road network in the operational areas Vilhelmina, Svenstavik, Arboga and Helsingborg. In total Peab will maintain around 3,500 kilometers of federal roads and Peab now has operation contracts for 24 of the Swedish Transport Administration's road operation areas.

"We're very pleased to be able to take care of the roads in the four operational areas. Working for safe and passable roads all year round in Sweden is an important task for us as a community builder and something we're very proud of," says Berth Larsson, Region Manager Peab. 

The contracts start on September 1, 2026 and extend over four years with an option for a further two years.

The projects will be order registered in the first quarter 2026.
