The E22 highway and the exit at Lund Norra are currently heavily trafficked, while the City of Lund is planning to densify the Ideon area and expand the new district of Brunnshög. Therefore a new interchange will be built on the E22 at Ideon. At the same time additional lanes will be built in both directions between the Gastelyckan-Lund Norra interchanges. The new lanes will raise traffic safety and passability by reducing queues and accidents risks.

"Just like the Lund Södra interchange, this is a large and complex project and our work includes the challenge of disrupting traffic as little as possible. We will also strive to reduce the Swedish Transport Administration's climate calculations by 48 percent by using our ECO-products like ECO-Betong (ECO-Concrete) and ECO-Asfalt," says Göran Wiking, Region Manager Peab.

"We're bringing Sweden closer together by creating the conditions for regional development and business while enabling the best possible and safest transportation and travel route, regardless of where you live, and we're doing it with consideration to the environment and health," says Wali Hamid, Project Manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Planning will begin immediately and production is expected to commence in August 2025. The project is expected to be completed by November 2027.

The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2025.
