The project will be carried out on the mountainside above the center of Honningsvåg to protect the town from future snow avalanches and rockfalls. The work takes place under extremely demanding environmental conditions where the use of machinery is not possible. All work is performed manually directly on the mountainside, using drilling equipment that is lifted in by helicopter. Planning will begin during the winter of 2025/2026, and completion is expected in the autumn of 2027.
