The agreement is the result of a successful early phase collaboration between the parties. NCC’s assignment includes the renovation of existing buildings as well as the construction of new cultural and museum facilities. Beneath the new building, modern museum storage facilities will be constructed to meet stringent climate and security requirements for the long-term preservation of cultural-historical textiles.

“Stiklestad is one of Norway’s most important cultural and historical meeting places, and we look forward to contributing to the development of the site ahead of the upcoming millennium anniversary. Our experience of complex cultural buildings and refurbishment projects has been important in preparing for this assignment, which places high demands on technical execution, logistics and preservation,” says Eivind Svarva, Department manager, NCC Building Nordics.

“The signing of this turnkey contract is truly a milestone. Entering the main phase of the project, where we will bring “Stiklestad for a new thousand years” to life, feels incredibly significant. For such an important and extensive project, it is very reassuring to have a reliable contractor like NCC on the team. We look forward to a close and productive collaboration in the years ahead,” says Heidi Anett Øvergård Beistad, Director of Museene Arven.

Production will commence during the autumn of 2026 and completion is scheduled 2028.

The order value is approximately SEK 215 million and will be registered among orders in the NCC Building Nordics business area in the fourth quarter of 2026.
