“The Takryttaren block is the first project that we are procuring using a so-called climate budget. As a client, we must dare to make demands to drive development forward. We can see that the industry is ready to cut carbon emissions, and we were pleasantly surprised by the response we received. Together with NCC, we came up with climate-efficient solutions that are expected to reduce overall emissions by 40 percent,” says Anna-Lotta Andersson, Head of New Construction of Uppsalahem.

“Building with a focus on both significantly reducing carbon emissions and lowering costs is an exciting challenge. Projects like this one show that we can drastically reduce our emissions when we work in close partnership with our customers, and with clear goals. We have a long history of cooperation with Uppsalahewm and are looking forward to continuing it with such an interesting project,” says Niklas Sparw, Head of NCC Building Sweden.

NCC and Uppsalahem have worked closely on this project, with a sharp focus on emissions-reducing measures. The solutions that formed part of the climate budget include structural adjustments that reduce the amount of building materials that account for the greatest share of emissions, the use of climate-improved concrete, and planning that results in less use of transport during the construction phase.

NCC will build apartments, housing with special services for adults, and 70 co-living apartments. The five-story, U-shaped building is being constructed adjacent to existing buildings. The apartments, which will be Nordic Swan ecolabeled, range from studio apartments to 3.5-bedroom apartments between 29 and 98 square meters in size.

The order value is approximately SEK 290 million and will be registered in the NCC Building Sweden business area in the first quarter of 2025. The project will commence in the first quarter of 2025 and the apartments are scheduled for occupancy in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Groundbreaking for the project is planned for February 3, 2025.
