Getinge receives refund of tariffs paid under IEEPA

Since the tariffs were introduced in April 2025, Getinge has continuously included information in its financial reporting on the amount paid by the company each quarter. Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in February 2026 that IEEPA does not authorize the imposition of tariffs, and subsequent decisions by the U.S. Court of International Trade regarding refunds to importers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has established a dedicated refund process.

Getinge has applied for a refund under this process and, during the end of the second quarter of 2026, received approximately USD 36 M of the tariffs previously paid.

As a result of the refund, Getinge will recognize a positive non-recurring effect in the second quarter of 2026 through a reduction in cost of goods sold of approximately USD 38 M, allocated across the respective business areas. To provide a fair view of performance over the 2025–2026 period, Getinge applies the same accounting principle to the refund as to the original tariff costs. The refund will therefore not be reported as an item affecting comparability (IAC), since the previous tariff costs were not reported as items affecting comparability (IAC).

Getinge continues to adhere to applicable tariff regulations and pays the import duties required for the company’s operations.

The interim report for the second quarter of 2026 will be published on July 17, 2026, at 08.00 a.m. CEST.
