On November 16, 2020, Getinge AB (publ) and its subsidiaries Atrium Medical Corporation and Maquet Cardiovascular US Sales, LLC filed a lawsuit against the insurer Trygg-Hansa Försäkring filial (former Moderna Försäkringar), Swedish branch of Tryg Forsikring A/S, to secure insurance compensation for costs associated with the product liability claims filed in the US and Canada regarding two different types of surgical mesh products.

On April 29, 2021, a lawsuit was filed against If Skadeförsäkringar AB (publ) regarding similar insurance compensation.

The settlement agreements with Trygg-Hansa Försäkring filial and If Skadeförsäkringar AB (publ) were signed today on September 27, 2023. The settlement compensation amount in total to SEK 450 M and will be paid to Getinge AB (publ) during Q4 2023.
