Genovis Launches AlligBAITOR™ and Strengthens Its Offering in Advanced Protein Analytics
Genovis AB today announces the commercial launch of AlligBAITOR™, a novel immunoglobulin-binding protein that expands the company's offering in advanced protein analysis. The product enables capture of all major antibody isotypes and uniquely facilitates the release of antigens from antibody-antigen complexes under native conditions. Together with the high-performance enzymes added through the recent acquisition of KPL, AlligBAITOR strengthens Genovis' proteomics offering by enabling new workflows for the analysis of complex biological samples. The product has already been evaluated by researchers and industry experts across multiple application areas, consistently demonstrating its potential to enable new and improved workflows.
AlligBAITOR represents a new category of tools within the Genovis portfolio and complements the company's established SmartEnzymes™ platform. Through high-affinity binding to the Fab region of immunoglobulins, the product captures all major antibody isotypes, including IgG, IgA, IgM, and IgE, from complex biological matrices such as human serum.
Unlike traditional antibody-binding proteins such as Protein A and Protein G, which bind only selected antibody classes, AlligBAITOR provides broad isotype coverage. In addition, the product offers a unique capability to release antigens bound to antibodies while preserving their native structure. This opens new possibilities across proteomics, bioanalysis, and diagnostics.
Interest from early access users has been strong across multiple application areas, including proteomics research, bioanalytical characterization, and diagnostic development. The broad application potential is further supported by independent academic validation. A recently published preprint from Professor Albert Heck's group at Utrecht University, one of the world's leading centers in protein mass spectrometry, demonstrates the utility of AlligBAITOR in advanced proteomics workflows and the analysis of complex biological samples.

AlligBAITOR™ is available in two product formats.
AlligBAITOR™ Lyophilized enables pan-Ig capture in solution and can simultaneously release antigens from antibody-antigen complexes under fully native conditions without the use of denaturing reagents. This capability has been demonstrated using clinically relevant antibody-antigen pairs, including trastuzumab-HER2 and adalimumab-TNFα.
AlligBAITOR™ Affinity Purification is supplied as ready-to-use microspin columns and enables rapid enrichment or depletion of immunoglobulins from serum. This improves the detection of low-abundance proteins in complex biological samples and creates new opportunities across proteomics, bioanalysis, and diagnostics.
