Freemelt receives an order of Freemelt ONE from Turkish university

Nasdaq First North-listed Freemelt – a deep-tech, green-tech company whose groundbreaking solution creates new conditions for rapid growth in 3D-printing has in a short time received an additional order for a Freemelt ONE machine. This time from a Turkish university, which will use the machine for electron beam melting (EBM) process development, application development and material characterization. The order has an expected delivery in the first quarter 2024.

Freemelt ONE is optimized for material research, to introduce new materials and products in industrial applications faster. The university will use Freemelt ONE for continued research and development in the field of process development for EBM and new material characterization processes.

Additive Manufacturing (3D-printing) has revolutionized the manufacturing industry and enables manufacturing of complex geometries, improved environment through reduced transport as well as improved working environment and shorter lead times compared to traditional manufacturing methods such as casting, forging, milling and drilling. Within Additive Manufacturing, EBM technology is expanding rapidly in applications for high-volume production in metal.

Freemelt’s CEO, Daniel Gidlund comments,
"We are proud of this new order, which is our second in just a few days. It is a strong confirmation of the value Freemelt’s solutions brings to the research of materials development and to the Additive Manufacturing industry. Right now, we see an increasing interest for applications in various business verticals such as medical implants, electromobility, defense and renewable energy. It’s very exciting to see how suitable Freemelt ONE is for various purposes. This customer will use the machine for academic purposes, material development and characterization, process development, application development for composite technologies, Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), smart and digital manufacturing as well as data-oriented smart productions.”

Gidlund continues,
“Their aim is to establish a direct digital manufacturing platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and help the SME’s to increase their digital transformation and competitiveness. We are happy to add another university to our customer list and to take further steps towards establishing Freemelt as a market leading supplier of metal 3D-printing solutions.”
