Fasadgruppen to carry out second phase of energy renovations on multi-family residential properties in Umeå for Riksbyggen

Fasadgruppen’s subsidiary SmartFront AB has signed a contract with Riksbyggen to initiate the next phase of the extensive exterior renovation with energy efficiency measures on tenant-owner association Storspoven in Umeå. The project comprises a design-build contract for all eight buildings in the association.

During the autumn and winter, SmartFront has carried out work on one building as a trial to identify unknown conditions before the full project execution. In the project, a new surface layer will be installed where the bricks will be replaced by a plaster façade with mineral wool insulation. The roof will be renovated and new ventilation channels using the SmartFront method will be installed. The order value for the new phase amounts to roughly SEK 104 million.

Stefan Forsberg, CEO of SmartFront said: “It is exciting to now be able to start the energy renovation of all buildings in Storspoven. By taking a holistic approach that includes both façade and ventilation, the energy performance will be improved by more than 50 percent, while also achieving a better indoor environment with cleaner air and stable temperatures.”
