SBTi is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

Following the commitment, Fasadgruppen will develop and submit its targets, including a long-term net-zero target, to the SBTi for approval. By committing to set a long-term net-zero target, Fasadgruppen becomes part of the UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign. The new and more ambitious targets will once approved replace Fasadgruppen’s existing 2030 reduction targets for scope 1, 2 and parts of scope 3.

Through its services, Fasadgruppen has a direct positive impact on the energy performance of buildings, which account for a substantial part of the world’s emissions. With the new targets, Fasadgruppen will be able to accelerate its work to reduce emissions throughout its value chain, where procured materials constitute a major part.
