BOSTON – Elekta (EKTA-B.ST) today announced the expansion of its adaptive radiotherapy portfolio at ASTRO. With capabilities spanning CT- and MR-guided radiotherapy, radiosurgery and brachytherapy, Elekta is giving clinicians more ways to personalize treatment while addressing the clinical, operational and resource demands that can limit broader adoption of adaptive radiotherapy. The portfolio is enabled by Elekta ONE software.

Elekta’s adaptive portfolio spans MR-guided radiotherapy with Elekta Unity, CT-guided online adaptive radiotherapy with Elekta Evo, and online adaptive radiosurgery with Leksell Gamma Knife Esprit. The portfolio is now expanding with online adaptive capability for Elekta Harmony and real-time adaptive planning in prostate brachytherapy with Elekta Prostate Guideway.

Elekta Harmony, one of Elekta’s CT-Linac platforms, now supports online adaptive workflows enabled by Elekta ONE Online. The new capability allows clinicians to assess the patient’s anatomy at the time of treatment and adapt the treatment plan only when needed.

Elekta Harmony is designed for everyday throughput, with guided workflows and automation that support efficient treatment delivery. Adding online adaptive capability gives cancer centers a practical way to introduce adaptive radiotherapy while continuing to manage patient volumes and clinical resources.

The portfolio launch also includes Elekta Prostate Guideway, which brings adaptive workflows into HDR prostate brachytherapy. The solution integrates imaging, planning and treatment adaptation together in a connected, single-room workflow. Continuous dose recalculation and efficient plan updates allow clinicians to respond to anatomical changes and needle shifts as they occur.

Diagnostic MRI and biopsy information can be incorporated into the live treatment workflow, while immediate visual feedback shows how the evolving plan compares with clinical objectives. This supports informed targeting and treatment-planning decisions throughout the procedure.

Together, these developments extend Elekta’s adaptive offering across MR-guided and CT-guided radiotherapy, Gamma Knife radiosurgery and image-guided brachytherapy, giving clinicians greater flexibility to select the imaging and workflow best suited to the patient, indication and clinical need.

Product availability and regulatory status vary by market. Prostate Guideway is pre-commercial and pending U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance and EU CE marking.
