Effnet licenses its header compression software for advanced research

Luleå 2026-01-19 - Effnet AB, a subsidiary of Effnetplattformen Holding AB and the premier provider of header compression software for wireless and fixed networks, announces that it has licensed its header compression software to a Singapore-based defence research organization collaborating with a technological university in Singapore for use in advanced communications research. The one-time license fee from the agreement will bring a limited positive financial contribution in this quarter.

Effnet’s header compression technology is deployed worldwide across cellular/mobile, satellite, industrial, enterprise and defence-related communications systems. In defence and security environments, including ad-hoc and mobile networks where bandwidth, latency and link reliability can be constrained — such as tactical communications or unmanned aerial vehicles — efficient and robust header compression can help optimise network performance while keeping system resource usage low. The software is standards-compliant with IETF and 3GPP specifications (3G/4G/5G), proven interoperable, and designed to deliver high compression efficiency with low computational overhead.
