Copperstone obtains environmental permit for the Viscaria mine

The Land and Environment Court at Umeå District Court has today notified Copperstone permission of a permit according to the Environmental Code for mining and water operations at the Viscaria mine in Kiruna.

"We are extremely happy about today's decision from the court, which has also ordered that the permit may be used in certain parts without hindrance of legal force (verkställighetsförordnande). This means that we can immediately start important work to prepare for mining operations. Today’s ruling means that the plan to reopen the Viscaria mine in 2026 is still in place," says Jörgen Olsson, CEO of Copperstone Resources.
