The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with two other entrepreneurs based in Lerum and is a direct result of discussions on how to accelerate the adoption and use of sustainable transport solutions in Sweden. The goal is to create concrete examples of how electric light transport vehicles can contribute to reduced emissions and increased efficiency in local freight transport.

“I see great potential in the business model of renting electric light transport vehicles. By investing myself, I want to show my commitment and at the same time create a practical test platform for the mobility services of the future,” says Göran Folkesson, Chairman of Clean Motion. He adds: “In today’s harsh political climate, where it was recently confirmed that the government is failing to meet all environmental targets – and this is met with a shrug and a smile from our climate minister – private initiatives that drive progress are more important than ever.”

Beyond practical use, the business will also focus strongly on the visual branding of the vehicles. The aim is to achieve high visibility in urban areas, which is expected to generate significant attention for both Clean Motion and EVIG. The rental service is aimed at businesses that need flexible, sustainable urban transport – such as bakeries, restaurants, and e-commerce operators. The vehicles will be delivered immediately, and the rental service is expected to launch in June, with pilot projects running in several Swedish cities.

The order is valued at SEK 760,000, with two of the vehicles being lightly used demo models. The board considers the price (approximately 8% discount from the list price) to be fully in line with market value.
