Bergs changes the reporting structure to clarify strategic direction
Bergs’s strategic focus is to increase the proportion of value-added products and thereby create possibilities for steady and good profitability over time. To make that direction clear, Bergs has changed its reporting structure from 1 January 2023.
Doors and windows are a growth area within Bergs and is now reported as a separate segment, Doors & Windows. Value-added wood products is presented in one segment, Wood Solutions, where the product offering is made clear to our customers.
Within Wood Solutions, the focus is to increase the share of special products and coordinate sales, marketing and production between the Group's various subsidiaries. Sawn Wood and Energy & Logistics are reported in accordance with previous segment reporting.
To facilitate comparisons in future financial reporting, Bergs presents restated figures for all quarters in 2022.
The reporting segments are:
- Wood Solutions includes sales and production of value-added wood products for various applications. The product offering is categorised into the following product areas:
- Garden & Landscaping
- Facades
- Construction
- Industrial Components
- Building Systems
The product offering will be marketed under a common brand, "Bitus". The launch will take place in autumn 2023.
- Doors & Windows includes sales and production of doors and windows.
- Sawn Wood includes sales and production of sawn products.
- Energy & Logistics includes sales and production of pellets and fire logs, as well as the port and distribution operations in the UK.
