Vinnova supports eleven new competence centers starting January 2024, where universities and companies will jointly conduct advanced research and education, in areas that are important for a sustainable industry and digital societal transformation. In total, the universities, companies and Vinnova are investing SEK 1 billion during the first five years. The Swedish Wireless Innovation Network (SweWIN), which is part of this initiative, will be led by Professor Emil Björnson at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).

In addition to KTH, RISE and BeammWave, the center will also have contributions from Ericsson, Saab, ABB, CellMax Technologies and Northern Waves.

"BeammWave already has a very good collaboration with KTH and Professor Björnson. We see this as both an acknowledgement and an opportunity for our revolutionary approach to digital beamforming," says Markus Törmänen, co-founder and Board member of BeammWave.
