CEO of Vörður announces he intends to leave the company
Guðmundur Jóhann Jónsson, CEO of Vörður, has informed the company’s board of directors that he intends to leave the company in the next few months. Guðmundur has led the company’s growth for more than 16 years.
Guðmundur Jóhann Jónsson, CEO of Vörður:
“It has been a very enjoyable period of my life and a privilege to lead this excellent team of people at the company. Vörður has gone from strength to strength on the Icelandic insurance market over the past few years and is ideally placed to continue growing over the next few years. I leave the company satisfied and full of gratitude.”
Benedikt Olgeirsson, chairman of the board of directors of Vörður:
“It will certainly be the end of an era for Vörður when Guðmundur leaves the company next year. Guðmundur has been a highly successful CEO and has performed a key role in the growth and success of the company over the last few years. On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank him for his excellent work and contribution to the company.”
Guðmundur will continue in his role into the New Year or until a successor has been appointed.
